14th December 2011

As part of the promotion of our new Brite-Mat Mouse Mat specialist website, we agreed to sponsor local Preston North End defender David Gray for the 2011/12 season. As part of the package PNE offered to donate 50 match tickets to the school of our choice and we chose St Anne's RC Primary in Leyland, where Directors Stephen and Ann Ward's children attended 20 years ago. The school had changed a lot but the Headmaster and several staff, remembered Stephen and son Adrian, on the day they presented the tickets. BusinessGiftUK.com support for local hospice

20th November 2011 Donation of monitors

Here at the Ad-Options group we have recently upgraded to widescreen LCD monitors to help us see more data and detail as we process customer orders and artwork. The previous LCD monitors were still in good condition so we decided to donate them to a good cause. We have helped many local organisations but our staff on this occasion decided to offer them to St Catherine's Hospice in Bamber Bridge. The screens were collected by Senior Fundraiser, Norman Cutler.

In 2010 both St Catherines and Ad-Options celebrated 25th anniversaries so we celebrated that year by donating popular printed Ad Loop keyrings to help raise awareness and valuable funds for the hospice. We are also pleased to have been suppliers of printed T-shirts sold in the hospice shops.

Please click on this LINK to visit the hospice website and see if there are ways in which you can help.

BusinessGiftUK.com have made a donation of promotional pens to help the work of Lancashire Cat Rescue. Directors Ann and Steve Ward recently offered to home two rescue kittens called Lotus and Lola, who were born in an disused car in Manchester, earlier this summer. There has been an increase in abandoned pets in the recent economic downturn and the rescue centre has had many more furry friends to look after. Christine and Brian Lomax have been rescuing, looking after and re-homing cats and kittens for over 20 years.

If you can home a cat or would like to know more about the the good work they do, why not visit http://www.lancatrescue.co.uk/.

29th August 2011mitre football prize

Local Preston North End fan Stuart Nash has used his pedal power to raise important funds for the Derian House childrens hospice. He cycled from PNE's ground Deepdale to Ibrox in Glasgow, the home of Rangers, raising over £700. Stuart had a personal motive to achieve his goal. "I chose Derian House as my charity as they are close to my heart, my late brother Daniel spent a lot of time there before he passed away. Derian House is a childrens hospice that provide care for terminally ill children and also respite for their families. The staff and volunteers that work there do a wonderful job. Less than 10% of Derian's funding comes from official sources such as the goverment, so fundraising like this is so vital for them." "Anybody that still wants to sponsor me, my link is still open follow -www.justgiving.com/stuart-nash"

Stuart wore T-shirts printed by BusinessGiftUK.com on the journey, displaying all his generous sponsors, and was delighted with the printing. "I owe you a massive "THANK YOU" for the tshirts, they looked absolutely fantastic."

South Ribble Girls Cricket on the UP!!

Author: Mark Cookson - Guest

Date: 25th May 2011

As part of their development plan, South Ribble Cricket Development Group has increased its number of girl’s teams from 1 in 2010 to 3 in 2011. This is hopefully build on the success the U11s had in 2010 whenBusinessGiftUK.com sponsor South Ribble girls cricketBusinessGiftUK.com sponsors South Ribble girls cricket the reached the finals of their competition.

Sponsorship for the teams has come from local businessman Steve Ward, Managing Director of Ad-Options Limited, (http://www.businessgiftuk.comwho has helped with the purchase of shirts and caps for the teams and an application has also been submitted to Sport England through the ‘Sportivate’ programme

Steve commented “There has been a lot of good work in recent years, developing junior cricket in this area. We were pleased to show some support from the business community by donating some printed polo shirts to the new girl’s teams. We wish them every success this summer.” The polo shirts are printed with the business gifts company's website BusinessGiftUK.com.

During the winter months indoor training sessions were held at Wellfield High School in Leyland. Players from the local clubs were invited along as were girls from schools within South Ribble who had been identified by the LCB Community Coach for the area Mark Cookson.

Mark explains ‘This venture is something the Development Group has looked to run for a while now and having a structured  coaching programme in place within the schools has helped massively’... ‘very few girls moved on from schools cricket to club cricket, however the formation of an U11s girls team, through the Chance2 Shine programme at Leyland CC  in 2010 and the setting up of a women’s section at Vernon Carus CC has allowed girls of all ages to now make this step’. It is hoped other clubs within South Ribblewill look at setting up their own junior teams so more girl’s can get into cricket.

South Ribble CDG now has teams at U11s – U13s and U15s and all 3 teams have been entered in to the recently formed Lancashire Girls District competition. The format of the District competition is that of small groups and mini festivals will be held with each area in the respective group holding a competition.
